Doha: Non-ticketed fans can enter Qatar after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group Stage - starting from December 2, 2022 - without requiring a match ticket to enjoy the unique tournament atmosphere with teams and fans in the country, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy has announced.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the Official Spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Cup Security Force, Colonel Dr. Jabr Hammoud Jabr Al Nuaimi, said that non-ticketed fans can also apply for their Hayya Cards to enter Qatar through the Hayya platform or Hayya mobile app from today, November 3, 2022, according to the listed requirements and QAR 500 entry fee for children aged 12 and over.
He noted that children under 12 years will not be charged.
The press conference was attended by Deputy Executive Director of Safety and Security Operations Committee, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy Eng. Ali Al Ali, Deputy Director General, Marketing, Communications & Event Experience, Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi and the official health spokesperson for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Dr. Yousef Al Maslamani.
"We are pleased to announce our readiness to securely host the World Cup. The Ministry of Interior and security forces have worked diligently to put extensive plans and programmes in place to ensure the delivery of a safe and distinguished tournament," Colonel Dr. Nuaimi said.
"For many years, the State of Qatar was among the highest-ranking countries in global security and safety indicators, topping the list of countries in the Middle East and North Africa. This makes Qatar an ideal country to safely host major events of all kinds.
"The tournament's security entails many different objectives, including protecting all World Cup facilities and infrastructure components, as well as building an integrated security capability for the tournament that surpasses the standards and practices used in previous major events," he added.
The latest transport updates were also discussed during the press conference. Visiting fans are encouraged to use public transport to get around, including the dedicated bus services and Doha Metro. Qatar residents are encouraged to use their private cars to attend matches.
Deputy Director General - Event Operations, SC, Eng. Ali Al Ali said: "Our state-of-the-art public transport systems will provide seamless options for fans to get around. Thanks to our compact tournament, fans will never be far from a stadium, their accommodation or entertainment site and will even have the chance to attend more than one match per day during the early stages of the tournament."
He added that there are many options available to fans, and that fans can use the Doha Metro to go to all stadiums and event areas, and buses will be present continuously during the tournament period to cover stadiums and other facilities. During the tournament, the Metro will start from 6 am till 3am, except for Friday, when working hours start from 9am till 3am.
The Deputy Director General, Marketing, Communications & Event Experience, SC, Khalid Al Mawlawi said: "Qatar will host a vast array of cultural and entertainment offerings during the World Cup, including more than 90 special events taking place on the sidelines of the tournament. In addition to the FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, the Doha Corniche will be one of the largest fan destinations, with roving performances, cultural activities, food and beverage stalls and retail outlets along its 6km route, with capacity to host more than 70,000 fans every day."
Al Mawlawi added: "Other activities will include the daily Welcome to Qatar show, one of the biggest pyrotechnic shows in the world. Theme park rides and other attractions will be open to fans at Al Maha Island Lusail, along with the 974 Beach Club, the Hayya Fan Zone on Lusail South Promenade, North Qetaifan Island and the Arcadia Spectacular and ARAVIA by MDL Beast dance music festivals. The Last-Mile Cultural Activations will also feature more than 6,000 performances in 21 locations."
The Official Healthcare Spokesperson for Qatar 2022, Dr. Yousuf Al Maslamani said: "We encourage fans to visit our dedicated website for the latest information. We also urge all international fans to take out travel insurance before arriving in Qatar."
Al Maslamani pointed out that last week witnessed the announcement of new updates to the policy of entry and exit from the country, as it is not required to conduct a pre-travel screening or quarantine unless the screening result positive.
He noted that the health sector has witnessed a very large expansion, and visitors to Qatar will enjoy high-quality health services during the tournament. The number 999 is also allocated to obtain health care for anyone suffering from an emergency situation.
As for non-life-threatening cases, there are 100 medical clinics distributed in Playgrounds, main accommodations and parking lots for fans to make it easy to access medical services. In addition, there are 4 hospitals to receive patients from urgent cases, which provide services free of charge to Haya card holders.
He stressed that the State of Qatar will provide an integrated set of services in all World Cup stadiums during the 64 matches, where care services will be provided from clinics, medical teams and ambulances to the players, in addition to emergency services through 3 medical teams, 8 ambulances and 13 clinics spread around the stadiums, adding the service will be provided in all stadiums during the tournament, in addition to the provision of many health services in the fan festival areas and the availability of health care teams to provide the necessary support in all cases.
