Doha: The Tunisian national team lived through difficult times and was subjected to various failures and changes in terms of coaching, but it managed to be in the FIFA World Cup finals for the sixth time in its history, and hopes to pass group stage when it plays the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Tunisia dream for the first time in their history to advance in the World Cup in Qatar, despite being in a group with two strong teams, defending champions France and Denmark, along with Australia.

Participating in the World Cup finals for the second time in a row represents a great success for Tunisia, after they missed the 2010 and 2014 editions, but this time they want to pass the group stage after they exited early from the World Cup in Russia four years ago.

Despite the difficulty of the group and the long-standing national teams of France and Denmark, the Tunisian team’s chances are abundant in order to achieve a fantastic World Cup and snatch one of the two qualification cards, in light of the World Cup being held in Qatar.

Jalel Kadri, who coached Tunisia after their disqualification from the African Nations Championship, will be required to continue his successes with the team and achieve qualification for the second round in the World Cup in Qatar after he had previously led the team to success in the World Cup qualifiers at the expense of Mali.

The Tunisian team will compete in the World Cup in Qatar and will have nothing to lose, and this may be one of its most prominent elements before the World Cup in Qatar, in addition to its distinction as a very strong team at the technical level that can exploit any mistakes from the opponent to send him a strong shock.

It is expected that Tunisia’s first match in the World Cup against Denmark on November 22 at the Education City Stadium will reveal the team’s chances of reaching the second round (the round of sixteen), as their chances of crossing from this group seem difficult, but not impossible, before meeting Australia at Al Janoub Stadium on the 26th of the same month. They then face off with France on November 30 at Education City Stadium.

The Tunisian Federation chose Wyndham West Bay Hotel, located in Al Dafna area, as the headquarters of the team during the tournament period, provided that the team will conduct its training on Stadium No.3 of Al Aqla training stadiums.

Tunisia qualified for the World Cup in Qatar after topping the second group in the African qualifiers, which included Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and Mauritania, where they collected 13 points from 4 victories, a draw and a defeat, to qualify for the decisive round, where they overcame Mali (1-0) in the total of the two matches.

At the Arab level, Tunisia have a distinguished history in the World Cup finals, as it had previously participated in five previous editions, and achieved the first Arab victory in the finals at the expense of Mexico (3-1) in the World Cup in Argentina in 1978 and then achieved their second victory in the World Cup in Russia at the expense of Panama (2-1).

At the continental level, Tunisia are one of the most prominent African teams, as they participated in the finals of the African Nations 20 times and succeeded in winning the title in 2004 while they came second in 1965 and 1996.

The Tunisian national team ranked fourth three times in 1978, 2000 and 2019, while they qualified for the quarterfinals on seven occasions.

Tunisian football produced a distinguished group of the most prominent players throughout the generations, led by Sadok Sassi, Tarak Dhiab, Mohamed Akid, Hammadi Agrebi, Abdelmajid Chetali, Temime Lahzami, Hatem Trabelsi, Chokri El Ouaer, Adel Sellimi, Zoubaier Baya and Radhi Jaidi, the most contested player who played 105 international matches.
