Yaounde: The Cameroonian Football Association announced on November 10 the start of the final stage of the national team’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, due to kick off November 20 and runs through December 18.
The Cameroonian national team will go through its preparations for the World Cup at a camp in Abu Dhabi until they travel to Doha on November 19, the federation said in a statement.
Cameroon had drawn 1-1 with Jamaica in a friendly match ahead of the World Cup.
Fans were allowed to enter the team’s open training session at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium to motivate the players ahead of their World Cup seventh appearance.
Cameroon were drawn into Group G along with Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland. Their first game will be against Switzerland on November 24 at Al Janoub Stadium.
Africa’s most World Cup attendants previously played in the editions of 1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014.
