Zurich: Coach of the Tunisian national football team, Jalal Al Qadri, confirmed that his country's goal is to pass the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Tunisian team is participating in the World Cup for the sixth time in its history and is participating in Group D, which includes France, Denmark, and Australia.
Tunisia will face Denmark on November 22, play with Australia on November 26, and take on France on November 30.
The coach of the Tunisian national team hoped that this participation would be historical in every sense of the word and reach the round of 16 for the first time, as Tunisia has never exceeded the group stage in the tournament despite its honourable record of participation for the Arab and African teams.
Al Qadri said in an interview with the FIFA website that they qualified for the second time in a row for the World Cup, and this is not easy at all, and they have to go step by step in the World Cup, reaching the second round is the dream of every coach, and their goal and ambition is to bring happiness to the Tunisian fans.
He explained that the main strength of the Tunisian team lies in the unity of its elements, which includes in its ranks a group of stars who have been together for a long time, and some young people such as Hannibal Mejbri, Anis Ben Slimane and Issa Aidoni, who made a good return in the African Nations Cup and the Arab FIFA Cup Qatar 2021 in Doha.
He added that they are fortunate to have all of this expertise as well, represented by Youssef Msakni, Ali Maaloul, Wahbi Khazri, and several other names, in addition to the good relationship between the Tunisian Football Association and the national team, besides the president of the union who looks after the team, provide motivation, and assure a family environmental atmosphere.
