Zurich: According to the result of the FIFA fan vote, Brazilian forward Richarlison's goal against Serbia was named the best goal of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

FIFA announced on Friday that Richarlison has been officially declared the winner based on the votes cast via their official website.

The Brazilian striker scored that goal against the Serbian side with a scissor kick volley in the two sides' opening match in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which ended with the Argentine team being crowned world champions.

Richarlison's goal topped all goals in the fans' voting, including both Saudi Arabia's Al Dawsari's goal against Argentina and the Brazilian Neymar's goal against Croatia.

Other contenders for the award include the Netherlands' Cody Gakpo goal against Ecuador and Argentina's Enzo Fernandez's against Mexico.

Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar's goal against Serbia, Mexico's Luis Chavez against Saudi Arabia, France's star Kylian Mbappe's goal against Poland, Richarlison's goal against South Korea, and South Korea's Pak Seong's goal against Brazil were also in the reckoning.
